INSTRUCTOR CAREER

Paul is a ex-military physical trainer, REPs accredited, YMCA awarded personal trainer and sport scientist studying at Bolton University

Paul loves coaching people to build their fitness skyscraper, first building the foundations and then adding each layer till they have achieved their goals in feeling good about themselves, being stronger, more resilient and athletic to achieve their desired outcome. The definition of a doer is a person that does something so let's do this.

PAUL'S PHYSICAL TRAINING HISTORY WITHIN THE BRITISH ARMY

  • 2008 - Attended an All Arms Physical Training Instructor (AAPTI) course and became the reconnaissance support company’s physical trainer

  • 2009 and 2011 - Operated as an AAPTI based in England and on overseas operational tours. Conducting physical training on operational tours in itself is extremely challenging, and requires enhanced skills to independently use initiative in order to assess appropriate and safe exercise within potentially dangerous surroundings.

  • 2012 - Glencorse Barracks, Scotland. Trained and selected new recruits for the British Army

  • 2014 - Somme Barracks, Yorkshire. Training soldiers to pass promotional courses and achieve military promotion.

  • 2015 - Infantry Training Centre, Yorkshire. Syllabus which contained: -strength and conditioning training, gymnastic agility, swimming, circuit training, battle physical training, obstacle course, combat conditioning, interval training, fartlek training, hill reps, flexibility and mobility, combat conditioning, weight carrying and loaded march.

  • 2016 - Paul was nominated for an ARTD Trainer of the Year Award 2016 from across the British Army's Training organisation

SWIM TEACHER HISTORY

Whilst Paul was serving he completed his swim teacher qualification at Aldershot 50m Olympic pool and then instructed army recruits to swim at Nuffield Health Catterick. When Paul left the army he instructed at Nuffield Health, Didsbury, Manchester, for a year before moving to Stables Leisure Club.

PAUL'S EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY IN FITNESS

  • Paul first started instructing as a black belt in Shotokan Karate when he was a teenager

  • When Paul was in his early 20's he joined the British Army as an infantry man, from this point he progressed into all Arms Physical Training Instructor

  • His next stage was to complete his YMCA personal trainer and move through into completing his master personal training qualification which included sports strength and conditioning, indoor cycling instructor, kettle bell instructor and much more

  • Paul is now studying at Bolton University in BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science

STABLES LEISURE CLUB

In 2017 Paul started working as a personal trainer in Stables Leisure Club, whilst keeping his home personal training clients.
